About The Author

Fred Rinker lives in London, Ont. Canada. His interest in magnets for therapeutic use, grew out of his studies in physiology relating to enhanced human and equine athletic performance.
Fred had several discussions with fellow Canadian, Dr. A.R. Davis and his associate Walter Rawls. He visited their laboratory in Green Cove Springs, Florida in the late 1970s. These men were researchers and early pioneers in the application of magnets for therapeutic use. Fred developed an abiding interest from studying and reproducing some of their research. He began to search out and study the various forms of magnetic therapy being used in other countries. The many authors who influenced his perception have their works listed in the bibliography of his book.

Fred is associated with the Magnetic Therapists Association (now ACONT ) of Australia, where he earned certification as a magnetic therapist. He is presently the Canadian representative for ACONT, the Australian Committee of Natural Therapies. Fred is also a director of the International Magnetic Therapists Association.

The various books written on this subject often offer conflicting views with regard to the application of magnetic polarity. This caused many to dismiss magnetic therapy as too controversial. While studying the literature Fred discovered the reason for the conflict; some were using magnets with incorrect polarity designation and opposite to that being used by others. This explained the basic differences and unified the base of knowledge from all of the various sources. Using this consensus of opinion, Fred wrote The Invisible Force, outlining fundamental magnetic treatment for many common ailments.
Other important issues addressed are those regarding gauss, a term badly maligned by those marketing magnetic products, and the public misconception with regard to electromagnetic therapy relative to electromagnetic pollution.

His hope is that The Invisible Force will help bridge the gaps of controversy and help bring magnetic therapy closer to main stream acceptance. He is pleased that his book is being used as a primary text book in magnetic therapy courses.
Fred has researched and studied other aspects of magnetic use. He currently acts as consultant in the field of biomagnetics and continues his interest in the innovation of new applications.
